This exam is usually conducted in April (NDA I), and in September (NDA II). Male candidates who have qualified for 12th can only apply for this exam.

Through NDA I and NDA II, UPSC seeks to fill up officer-level vacancies in Army, Navy and Air Force. Naval Academy vacancies are also filled up through the NDA exam.
